Nilgiri black tea is less astringent than other Indian teas. It does not ‘cloud’ when refrigerated making it a natural choice for making an iced tea. It has a deep golden color brew and a very woody aftertaste.

It is grown at an elevation tea of 8,000 feet. A high elevation tea plants like Nilgiri Blue grow slower and usually has a lighter, more cultured flavors.

The tea garden is where Nilgiri is cultivated is known as one of India's premier organic tea estates. It was instituted in 1922 and remains dedicated to follow a sustainable cultivation procedures and preservation of the local ecosystems.
